Turns out The Body Shop has been harboring the ever-elusive Fountain of Youth. Its Drops of Youth Concentrate uses plant stem cell technology to replace (versus simply repair) damaged skin cells. The serum uses cells from the Criste Marine plant, which is said to produce both antioxidant and firming actions for the skin, and from Beech Bud tree extract, which contains hydroxyproline, an amino acid that increases skin collagen and elastin. Organic Babassu oil from Brazil also helps to soften, smooth, and revitalize the skin.
The concoction works—84% of users said their skin looked smoother after just four weeks of use. Some users reported that fine lines seemed to plump up instantly and dark spots lightened over a brief amount of time.
The Body Shop’s mission is to enrich people as well as the planet. All products are fair trade and cruelty free. In honor of its 40th anniversary this year, it will hold a Drops of Youth event this Saturday, February 20. Guest can try samples of the Drops of Youth Concentrate and explore other products within the line such as the popular Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask. Love Your Body members will also receive 20% off their entire purchase with the purchase of Drops of Youth Concentrate.
