The name Kohler generally elicits images of sleek, modern sinks and faucets. But the historic Wisconsin manufacturing company, established in 1873, includes a tasty offshoot—Kohler Chocolates, now available on Concourse C near Gate 12 (cart).
In 2007, CEO and Chairman Herb Kohler established the confectionary in his search for a better turtle (a delectable chocolate-covered caramel and pecan candy). After more than 100 test batches, the Kohler Terrapin was born and quickly gained notoriety. In 2009, it made Oprah’s “O List”—the ultimate sign of success. Since then, the company has expanded its offerings to include toffee, truffles, trail mix, and gem-inspired “rare facets” among other delights.
Beautifully designed gift packs travel well. Next up: Chocolate that flows from the faucets.
